Ephemera is blooming! Join us for open events, workshops, and meetings.

Only two weeks remain until this year’s edition of Ephemera begins, and the program for the sixth edition is still growing! If you haven’t yet secured tickets for the available events, we strongly encourage you to do so. But that’s not all – we’ve also prepared a series of accompanying events that are free to attend.

As tradition goes, Ephemera wouldn’t be complete without an intervention at our favorite Warsaw gallery, LETO. This time – even before the official festival opening with the Bal w Operze – we invite you to Future Celebrity, a performance by Olga Neugebauer on Wednesday at 6:00 PM. The event will bring to life the recently opened painting exhibition There is one day – at times it gets dark by Maria Kozak. Free admission.

On Saturday, June 14 at 2:00 PM, we invite you to the Kinomuzeum at MSN for a special audio performance Environments 12 by the Machine Listening collective, well known to Unsound audiences. Joel Stern and James Parker will present a new project – a speculative continuation of the cult classic Environments album series from 1969–1979. In this futuristic vision, soundscapes are everywhere: played, synthesized, and managed as elements of a cybernetic ecology. A discussion with the artists will follow the presentation. The event is supported by the SHAPE+ platform and the Pro Helvetia foundation. Tickets available at Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw website.

ASIANDOPEBOYS will make a strong mark on this year’s Ephemera. On Friday, June 13 at 7:00 PM, we invite you to Nowy Teatr for a conversation with Tianzhuo Chen – a visionary artist from Shanghai – who will discuss his work with Angelika Kucińska and Piotr Gruszczyński. The event is supported by the SHAPE+ platform and the Pro Helvetia foundation. Free admission.

At the invitation of the National Centre for Culture, Tianzhuo Chen will also play a DJ set during the closing event of the exhibition “1+1+1 Blejzyk/Habiera/Sykuć” at Kordegarda, the NCK Gallery. The event will feature performative interventions by members of ASIANDOPEBOYS. This cathartic finale marks the end of the ephemeral weekend — join us on Sunday, June 15 at 4:00 PM, after a short nap following W Brzask. Free admission.

For those who want to better prepare for the Гільдеґарда (Hildegard) concert by the Ukrainian duo Heinali and Andriana-Yaroslava Saienko, scheduled for June 13 at ATM Studio, we recommend a plant-based workshop inspired by the wisdom of Hildegard of Bingen – a medieval Benedictine abbess, philosopher, and mystic. Participants will create their own fragrant, magical ointments to take to the concert. The workshop will be held on Thursday, June 12 at 5:00 PM at the Museum of Pharmacy. Tickets available on the Museum of Pharmacy website. Applications should be sent to ephemera@unsound.pl by June 5. Space is limited.

And finally, something to refresh and soothe the senses. On Saturday, June 14 at 3:00 PM, together with MINT magazine, we invite you to a communal mint brewing session and a conversation about plants, soil, and their role in the modern world. The meeting will take place in the courtyard of Nowy Teatr. We’ll talk with Agnieszka Brzeżańska, Marianna Dobkowska, curator of the Soil and Friends exhibition at Ujazdowski Castle, and Pola Sutryk, creator of Ephemera’s Feast and an enthusiast of soil life.

Ephemera will take place in Warsaw for the sixth time, this year from June 11 to 15. The Unsound-produced multi-art event is created together with local curators, theatres, museums and artists. Lineup announced so far include:
