Although the violet has such an extraordinary scent, it is difficult to capture its fragrance in a bottle. The medieval mystic Hildegard of Bingen wrote that this small, unassuming plant can soothe headaches, heal wounds, and combat melancholy. During the plant workshop at the Museum of Pharmacy, we’ll take a pestle in hand and make our own violet cream.

About the Museum of Pharmacy:

A reconstructed interior of a pharmacy from a hundred years ago. Stories of medicines, poisons, and narcotics. Japanese Kampo medicine. And the extraordinary figure of one of the world’s first female pharmacists – Antonina Leśniewska. Although it’s one of the smallest museums in Warsaw, the Museum of Pharmacy shares Paracelsus’s belief that “the whole world is a pharmacy” – something that participants of the plant-based healing workshops can experience firsthand.

About the workshop leader:
Magdalena Oprządek – a geographer in love with plants growing in their natural habitats. For many years, she has been involved in nature education for children, teenagers, and adults. She currently works at the Botanical Garden, where she promotes knowledge about native plant species.

The workshop is co-organized with the Museum of Pharmacy named after Master of Pharmacy Antonina Leśniewska, a branch of the Museum of Warsaw.

Tickets for 30 PLN available on the Museum of Pharmacy website. Space is limited.
