Ephemera Festival opens at the majestic Grand Theatre – Polish National Opera, one of the city’s most iconic cultural venues, renowned for its monumental neoclassical architecture, vast stage, exceptional acoustics, and lush interiors.

Polish composer and pianist Hania Rani – winner of the European Film Award for Best Composer for her score to Sentimental Value – will present the Polish premiere of Shining. Inspired by minimalist composers such as Steve Reich and Philip Glass, the piece unfolds through hypnotic patterns and luminous textures. Rani will perform Shining with Hashtag Ensemble.

The evening will also feature Grammy-winning artist, composer, and vocalist Arooj Aftab. Widely regarded as one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary music, her work moves fluidly between jazz, minimalism, folk, and semi classical South Asian musical traditions. She won the Grammy Award for Best Global Music Performance in 2022 for “Mohabbat,” and her acclaimed album Vulture Prince brought her international recognition. Aftab has since performed at major venues and festivals around the world. This will be her first concert in Warsaw.

The partners of the event are the Grand Theatre National Opera and BMW Poland.
