Ephemera returns to Warsaw from June 8–14, celebrating the days around the summer solstice with an interdisciplinary program spanning performance, music, dance, visual art and ritual. Tickets to all individual events are now on sale. Note: the opening concert at Teatr Wielki with Hania Rani’s Shiningand Arooj Aftab is already sold out – access is now only possible via the last remaining Festival Passes.

In terms of new music program additions, one of the world’s most crucial underground rap acts, Armand Hammer (billy woods and ELUCID), will perform at Komuna Warszawa, in a former school playground in central Warsaw, alongside two large-scale collaborative formations: 2K88 + Rainy Miller + Bianca Scout + Lauren Duffus, and Microplastics (aya x 96 Back x Jennifer Walton). Tickets are on sale now.

The program includes a focus on Magdalena Abakanowicz, one of Poland’s most influential post-war artists. A recently discovered collection of her Super-8 films documenting her travels will be presented publicly for the first time, offering insight into her life and work. The screenings feature a live score by Joanna Duda and take place across two sessions, with the second reserved for passholders, including a talk presented by Mint Magazine featuring journalist Alek Hudzik and curator Marta Kowalewska. Tickets for the first session are available now.

Extending this thread, Ephemera will also present concerts in the garden of Abakanowicz’s former studio and home in Mokotów, where Teoniki Rożynek will perform among the sculptures and trees. Due to the intimate and specific setting, allowing only for a small audience, this event is not included in the Festival Pass and requires an individual ticket. The event is presented in partnership with Magdalena Abakanowicz Foundation. Tickets available here.

Across the program, performance operates as a shared language connecting disciplines and venues. Japanese artist Hanayo presents a live performance at Teatr Studio, where her work is also featured in the exhibition Gender Is Over by Filipka Rutkowska. This will be followed by a DJ set at bar Studio. Tickets here.

On June 13, the yearly collaboration with Warsaw's Kem will once again see a late-night Dragana Bar x Ephemera event push the boundaries of the club format. Rosa Pistola presents the world premiere of her new Tribal Sound System: Incorregible show, alongside the legendary filmmaker and performer Małga Kubiak who returns to the Dragana Bar stage with a showstopping intervention and salvo of experimental films, while the always relevant Schengen Pussy takes on the role of a queer detective for the night. Taking place across two stages, the night also features DJ sets by Ziúr, Nkisi, Kitty Sarcasm and anymati, as well as the previously announced Oli XL. Tickets are now available.

The festival’s partnership with W Brzask returns as a defining part of Ephemera’s identity. This year, concerts are once again free, and we will reveal the location with the next announcement. Beginning at dawn on June 14 – one of the longest days of the year – the program includes Marta Salogni, Martyna Basta (new album out May 15), and Natan Kryszk. Following the performances, Príncipe-affiliated artist Nídia will DJ.

On the closing night, Ephemera partners with MSN – Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw – to present Yannis Patoukas and Mathijs Leeuwis following their workshop/recording sessions at the Polish Radio Experimental Studio. The program continues an exploration of the studio’s legacy and the use of historical electronic instruments and technologies from the 1950s–70s.

Tickets for Cabaret Voltaire are also still available, the pioneering electronic group whose work helped define the language of industrial and experimental music. Further final additions to the Ephemera program will be announced soon – stay tuned via Instagram, Facebook, etc.
