Olga Anna Markowska
Last year, Polish multi-instrumentalist and composer Olga Anna Markowska released her debut album 'ISKRA' on Berlin's Miasmah imprint and firmly established herself at the crossroads between contemporary classical music and ambient, following on from her labelmates Deaf Center with atmospheres that are both cinematic and evocatively romantic. It shouldn't be too surprising, since Markowska cut her teeth working on film and documentary scores and as exhibiting as an interdisciplinary artist. And it's this experience that makes her work uncommonly immersive, a blend of acoustic instrumentation and subtle, tempered electronics.
