Virtuosic Swiss percussionist Julian Sartorius teams up with saxophonist/composer Marek Pospieszalski and Polish guitarist Artur Rumiński for a one-off trio performance especially for Ephemera 2025. Sartorius is best known for his idiosyncratic approach to drumming, prioritizing organic, open-ended sounds - often created with prepared instruments and found objects - that owe more to electronic music than they do jazz and free improv, while Pospieszalski takes a similarly unique approach to the horn, altering the body of the instrument and using a guitar amp to morph its tones into serrated screams. Rumiński, who plays with experimental metal acts Furia, Thaw, Marmur and Arrm, uses a table filled with generators and processors to blur his guitar tones with synthesized stutters and disorienting drones.
