Cocking an arched eyebrow at contemporary trends, Berlin-based Finns Ville Haimala and Martti Kalliala chew up art, entertainment and advertising, coughing up excessive, carnivalesque sounds and spectacles that address the streaming era's informational overload head-on. Since carving up grime, trap and rave sounds on their debut mixtape 'AS Live [][][][][]', Amnesia Scanner have skated through dark techno and avant-garde EDM, approaching everything with a deep sense of satire. Released last year in collaboration with NYC-based technologist Freeka Tet, 'STROBE.RIP, is an ambitious series of live performances, physical products, installations and videos that sees the world through the eyes of a hacker, picking and choosing high and low cultural expressions and mixing and matching them accordingly.
