Dominika Olszowy(PL)
Dominika Olszowy is a visual artist who works at the interface of various media, including video, performance and installation, and mixes truth and confabulation. She sometimes sees her works as amulets of a kind – used to enchant and tame the crisis that is reality. In her artistic practice, she draws from personal experiences, turning them into universal statements about the human condition and time, sprinkled with subtle humour. Since 2008, she has been running the ephemeral Sandra Gallery. Olszowy co-founded the radical hip-hop group Cipedrapskuad and the Horsefuckers M.C. moped gang. She also dabbles in theatre, creating scenography for plays. In 2019 she received the Spojrzenia – Deutsche Bank award for the best young Polish artist. She lives and works in Warsaw.
