Forming hazy traces of cloud rap, dream pop, R&B and chillwave into an ethereal sound they've dubbed "cold pop", Polish duo Coals follow their own eclectic, borderless instincts. This ambition stretches beyond the music, too; Coals have become notorious for their self-directed music videos and interdisciplinary live performances that feature intricate lighting, costumes and visuals to help deepen the band's unique identity. This year, they released their new album 'Sanitorium', a soothing, regenerative set of melancholy reflections set to dusty breaks and unexpectedly optimistic, euphoric synths.
