Pola Sutryk: Uczta(PL)
Pola Sutryk is a cook and interdisciplinary artist whose main language of communication is food, both in art and life, with a fascination with nature formed during a childhood in the forests of Podlasie. Based in Reykjavík, she organises edible installations, workshops and events that explore cooking and eating as a subject, medium, and excuse to meet. Her favourite things include jelly, eating with hands, fountains, edible weeds, rubbish, fermentation, microorganisms, and peculiar textures. Pola will prepare this year’s Feast in collaboration with bar mir, a cooperative of humans, weeds, and microbes based in the Warsaw district of Grochów and working towards the veganisation of Poland. The edible installation’s opening rite will be led by Pola Salicka. Pola & Pola already collaborated with Ephemera at the last two editions of the festival, preparing the multisensory edible installations ‘Heavenly Bodies’ and ‘Midsummer Night’s Dream’; they also prepared ‘Fizzy Aperitivo’ at Unsound 2022.
